Well-known technology analyst Gene Munster believes that Ilya Sutskever, OpenAI chief scientist who announced her departure this week, is likely to join Musk's artificial intelligence startup xAI.
Munster posted on social platform X that Sutskwo's departure from OpenAI may allow him to join Musk's xAI. He pointed out that Suzkwo had plannedjeopardythegreatestofalltimeHe discussed his next move and expressed excitement about a project that was of great personal significance to him.
Munster wrote: "My feeling is that since November 23, when Ilya regretfully recommended that the board replace Sam Ultraman, the results have been obvious. Despite this mistake, he is still one of the greatest AI talents in the world."
He added: "My feeling is that he has a 60% chance of eventually getting into xAI. Elon is determined to advance Grok, his basic model of 'truth-seeking', which requires world-class talent. The question is, does establishing a model of truth-seeking 'make personal sense' for Ilya? I don't know the answer."
OpenAI CEO Sam Ultraman also responded to Sutskewo's departure from the company, calling it "very sad." On the other hand, Musk responded to a spoof video that made fun of Ultraman's mixed feelings about Suzkwo's departure, indicating that he did not believe the OpenAI CEO was really sad.
